Bran Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Molasses
- 1/2 Cup Sugaar
- 1/4 Cup Shortening, melted
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 Cups Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp Ginger
- 1/4 Tsp Cloves
- 1 Cup Wheat Bran
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Mix molasses, sugar, shortening and egg together.
- Stir until well combined.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients a quarter at a time.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Roll to a 1/8″ thickness.
- Cut with cookie cutter.
- Bake from 7 to 10 minutes.
Notes
- DO NOT OVERMIX in step 5. If you do, your cookies will be bran bricks.
- If you don’t have a rolling pin, use a piece of clean PVC pipe.
- If you don’t have a cookie cutter, a glass works just as well.
